Ch. Sugar Hill's Heart Breaker ROMC (August 27, 1992 – June 11, 2007)

Jasper was our first home bred Champion.  We learned that one should never name a dog a prophetic name.

When Jasper was a young four years of age, in the prime of his life, he became sterile.  Lucky for us, we had a son of his as well as two daughters to continue his fine qualities.

During his short career, he sired 20 litters and has produced 7 American and 10 Canadian champions as well as many kids with agility and obedience titles including an Am./Can. OTCH and an agility MACH.

Jasper has now crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.  He won Best of Opposite at most of the Specialties he was entered, but he never won that elusive Best of Breed.

Sugar Hill Shelties

The "Available Page" was last updated April 13, 2019 with the notation that we have nothing available. Our web site was updated March 4, 2016 with updates to many of the pages. Still have a lot more to go.

We are breeders of shelties for show, obedience, and agility rings as well as as, most importantly, good pets. We bought our first "show" sheltie puppy in 1984.  We have been hooked on the breed ever since.

We have had a lot of experience with dogs since then.  Leslie and I have taught 4H dog obedience, led the Guiding Eyes for the Blind Puppy Raising program in our area for many years. Our sons exhibited in 4H dog obedience and junior handling until their interests changed.

We are members of the Central New York Shetland Sheepdog Club, the Finger Lakes Kennel Club and the American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA).

All of our puppies are born and raised for the first few weeks in the living room of our house. They are then moved to the kitchen where there is a little more noise.

Sugar Hill Shelties is located in the Southern Tier of New York State. Our dogs are bred for soundness of mind, structure, health and temperament, with the ability to become an outstanding companion. We generally only have two or three litters a year. All of our pet quality puppies are sold on spay/neuter/non breeding contracts. We encourage communication with us for the life of the dog and gladly answer any questions that may arise. We also stand fully behind our pups/adults and are willing to take them back, no questions asked, at any age, if the need arises.

All of our breeding stock are checked for normal eyes,  hips, thyroid and vWD.

Thank you for taking a moment of time to have a look at our dogs.

If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to email us.
